Japanese food, American styleSushi and Tart

Ryo's birthday was the other day. We were gonna go out at night but ended up staying home. He made california rolls. They were incredible.I'd asked him what kind of cake he wanted, and out of the blue he says 'taruto'... Uh, okay... 3 trips to the store and 15 new ingredients later I made a fresh fruit tart that seemed fine...Until I put the boiling hot apricot jelly glaze on top and it turned to soup.It was tasty though, lol.
I like making new foods together.
